Early voting begins for Arkansas primary runoff

Voters can cast a ballot early for Arkansas' June 10 primary runoff, an election highlighted by an increasingly contentious fight for the Republican nomination for attorney general.

Early voting was set to begin Tuesday for the primary runoff election. The secretary of state's office has predicted light turnout for the primary runoff. Twenty-one percent of the state's 1.6 million registered voters cast a ballot in the May 20 primary.

The runoff features only one statewide matchup, the race between Leslie Rutledge and David Sterling for the GOP's nomination for attorney general. The two have stepped up attacks on each other's records and conservative credentials over the past few days.

The election also features a runoff for a north Arkansas state Senate seat and a southeast Arkansas state House seat.
