'Becoming An Outdoors Woman" Workshop Set Near Little Rock

The popular Arkansas Game & Fish Commission program, "Becoming an Outdoors Woman," is an outdoors skills workshop for women. The objective is to provide a comfortable atmosphere where women can have fun learning skills in the company of other women to enhance their enjoyment of the outdoors.

This year's program will be held Sept. 12-14. Cost is $200 and deadline for registration is July 31. A few of the activities in the program include firearm safety, basic fishing, boating safety, learning to use a GPS, scuba diving and basic camping skills.

The workshop is held at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center in Ferndale, 15 miles west of Little Rock. Classes begin at noon on Friday and end at noon on Sunday. Participants will pick four classes, one on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
