3 men die in crash near Cotton Plant

Three Arkansans were killed in a single-vehicle accident on Arkansas 38 in Woodruff County early Sunday, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

A 2006 Ford Mustang was traveling east at a high rate of speed when it went off the roadway about 2 miles west of Cotton Plant shortly after 1 a.m., the report states.

The vehicle struck a concrete culvert, became airborne and then struck an electrical pole before coming to a stop in a ditch on the south side of the highway, the report states.

The vehicle's passengers -- Rodney Burrell, 23, and Jerrold Cross, 24, both of Little Rock -- were ejected from the vehicle during the crash, the report states.

Both men were pronounced dead an the scene by the county coroner, as was the driver, Clarence Harris, 24, of Scott.
