• Bill Clinton, the former president, will take part in a campaign rally in eastern Kentucky next month for Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes, the daughter of longtime Clinton friend Jerry Lundergan.

• Corey MacDonald, the deputy police chief in Portsmouth, N.H., said the popular Shrek the Musical, which is based on the animated children's film, has drawn some noise complaints from neighbors of the park where it is being performed but added that he is "not giving Shrek a ticket."

• David Beatty, 28, of Aliquippa, Pa., the father of two toddlers who died when a dresser fell on them, is facing involuntary manslaughter charges because he heard a crash and didn't immediately check on the girls, a prosecutor said.

• Benny Johnson, 28, was fired from his job at BuzzFeed, a news and entertainment website, after editors found 41 instances of "sentences or phrases copied word for word from other sites" among the 500 stories he had written, Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith said.

• Tom Contreras and his wife, Leti, alumni of St. Mary's University in San Antonio, are donating nearly $1 million to build a bar on the school's campus, which has been without a watering hole since The Pub closed shortly after the couple met there in the 1980s.

• Lawrence Pagano, 23, of Setauket, N.Y., was charged with driving while intoxicated after being accused of accidentally running over and killing a friend who had gotten out of his car and started walking home because she was worried he was drunk.

• Jordi Pujol, 84, a former president of the Spanish region of Catalonia, released a statement admitting to concealing large sums of undeclared money in secret foreign bank accounts from 1980 to 2003 and said he was willing "to appear before tax authorities, or if needed, judicial authorities," to explain matters.

• Duff Watson of Minneapolis said he and his two children were asked to leave a Southwest Airlines flight in Denver after he posted on Twitter about a boarding disagreement, a matter Southwest said was under review.

• Curtis Hays, 36, a UPS delivery driver in Southern California, faces charges including theft of firearms after being accused of stealing dozens of shipped guns that were sold on the black market, along with $7,000 worth of jewelry and some cellphones.
