Griep Appointed Principal For Springdale's Central Junior High School

SPRINGDALE -- Students at Central Junior High School will have a new principal this year.

Paul Griep, who has been principal at Archer Learning Center, was transferred to Central on Friday, said Jim Rollins, superintendent. The Archer Learning Center is an alternative school for students who overcoming challenges in their lives.

The transfer comes after Tamekia Brown was promoted from Central principal to assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, grades eight through 12.

Griep worked at the center for two years, and officials chose him for Central because he has good leadership and teamwork skills, Rollins said.

"Paul's a phenomenal educator," he said.

Griep will work part-time at each school until officials find a replacement to fill his position at the center, Rollins said.

Officials are expected to choose a principal for the center within the next week.
