Bentonville To Pick Up Storm Debris

BENTONVILLE -- A citywide cleanup of debris from Wednesday's storm will start Tuesday.

Residents can place debris on the curbside. City crews will collect tree limbs, sticks and leaves, according to a news release.

Debris must be ready for collection 7 a.m. Tuesday. It must be placed within 4-10 feet from the back of the curb or edge of the pavement. Debris should be kept out of drainage ditches and roads. Tree limbs, shrubs, trunks, etc. can't be more than 6 feet in length or 2 feet in diameter. Stumps will not be collected.

Household waste, hazardous waste, furniture, appliances, fluids, tires or any other nonvegetative waste will not be collected. Debris needs to be kept away from fire hydrants, gas meters, telephone pedestals, water meters and mailboxes.

Collection will begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday and continue until all streets have been traveled once. City crews will not repeat routes.

Property owners may take material to the city's compost facility, 2000 N.W. A St., during operating hours. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
