Bentonville cleanup scheduled after storm

BENTONVILLE — A city-wide cleanup of storm debris from Wednesday’s wind storm will start Tuesday, according to a news release.

Residents can place debris on the curbside. City crews will collect tree limbs, sticks and leaves, the release states.

All debris must be ready for collection by 7 a.m. Tuesday. It must be placed within 4 to 10 feet from the back of the curb or edge of the pavement. Debris should be kept out of drainage ditches and roadways. Tree limbs, shrubs, trunks, etc. can’t be more than 6 feet in length or 2 feet in diameter. Stumps will not be collected, according to the release.

Household waste, hazardous waste, furniture, appliances, fluids, tires or any other nonvegetative waste will not be collected. Debris needs to be kept away from fire hydrants, gas meters, telephone pedestals, water meters and mailboxes, the release states.

Collection will begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday and continue until all streets have been traveled once. City crews will not repeat routes.

Property owners may take material to the city’s compost facility, 2000 N.W. A St., during operating hours. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
