Camacho was arrested Sunday after a woman called police at 7:49 p.m. Saturday to report she was raped, according to court documents.

The woman said she posted an ad on the website Craigslist for house cleaning work. The woman said she went to an apartment at 601 W. Easy St. after she received a telephone call in response to the ad, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

She said Camacho answered the apartment door and then pulled her into the apartment, according to the affidavit. The woman said Camacho held a knife to her and then raped her.

The woman said the man showed her a black gun in a case and said, "You see that?"

The woman told police she left her earrings in one of the bedrooms as evidence.

Police later found the earrings and a silver knife in the bedroom.

Camacho denied the allegations when first questioned by the police. He told police there hadn't been any women in his apartment.

Police later returned to question Camacho again. Camacho told police at 4 p.m. Saturday he called an escort and she came to his apartment. Camacho said he and the woman couldn't reach a price for her services and she left.

Camacho said he called a second escort who wanted $200 an hour. Camacho told police when a woman knocked on the door he grabbed her by her throat and took her into the bedroom and raped the woman, according to court documents.

Camacho told police he wished he had paid the woman and wanted to apologize for holding a knife to her throat. Camacho told police he didn't plan the attack, but he didn't want to deal with any price negotiating with the woman.

Police questioned the woman about Camacho's claims. The woman denied she was involved in prostitution, and she only had a Craigslist ad for a house cleaner. Police told the woman they found an ad about her escort services.

The woman told police a former boyfriend was angry with her and had put the ad on Craigslist.

Camacho's arraignment is set for 8 a.m. Aug. 25 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren's court.
