Rude Drivers Make Roads Hazardous

Monday, July 21, 2014

(I was) on my way to the animal hospital at 5:30 a.m. to say goodbye to our beloved 13-year-old dog. My family was in the car.

On New Hope Road doing the speed limit of 50 in the left lane, a car speeds up behind me. Impatient, he goes to the right lane and gets behind another car that is only slightly in front of me.

The other car is also doing the speed limit. As I make my left turn onto I-49, he blows past me ... in time to stop at the red light.

Heading down I-49, again doing the speed limit in the right lane, another vehicle cuts in front of me and directly to the Whitaker exit -- even though there is a hundred yards of empty space behind me.

Where are these people going so early in the morning that they are in so big of a hurry?

My guess is that common courtesy knows no hours. It is absent 24-7, especially when it comes to driving.

My prayer for these drivers is this: When you are lying on your deathbed, those coming to say their goodbye will not have to encounter ignorant and inconsiderate drivers such as yourselves.
