Logan Dallas is serious when it comes to public service and helping people.

An honors graduate at Fayetteville High School, Dallas plans to major in political science this fall when she starts classes at the University of Southern California.

“Eventually, I may enter law school,” Dallas said. “But I want to get involved in some humanitarian efforts. There’s nothing more worthy than public service. I want to help other people as much as I can.”

Dallas was an all-state cheerleader, received the Chamber of Commerce Youth Excellence Award, was a Northside Rotary Club Superior Student and was the Teen Leadership Student of the Year. She said she has always been a student of history, and that is why she decided to study political science.

“I’ve gotten into the habit of reading about current events and keeping up with everything,” Dallas said. “It just seems like a good fit for me. There are other things I could do, but I think I’d be unhappy with many of them.”

Dallas said she selected USC because she is familiar with Los Angeles.

“My mother is from that area and I’ve travelled there my entire life,” Dallas said. “I’ve always been exposed to it and I felt comfortable at USC.”

Dallas said she also plans to explore the field of music and will minor in musical theater.

“Music is my other passion,” Dallas said. “It’s a lot of work, but I find it very gratifying.”

Dallas said volunteering for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis was her favorite community service project.

“Any time you can help out children, it’s well worth your time,” she said.
