HALEY STOTTS : LITTLE ROCK CHRISTIAN

There was one point in her young life that Haley Stotts wanted to become an astronaut.

Stotts admits she did not have those aspirations for very long, but that does not mean she stopped planning on making an impact.

“I became more practical,” Stotts said. “I want to find a decent job and still be able to be a mom when I have my own family.”

Stotts will enter Arkansas State this fall, and she plans to get into the field of sports medicine.

At Little Rock Christian, Stotts was an all-conference competitor on some very successful soccer teams and ran on two state championship cross country teams. She finished sixth individually in the 2012 Class 5A state meet and fourth in the 2013 Class 5A state meet.

“I never really like running, but it was special to be involved with that team,” Stotts said. “There was no drama. We were all focused to run our best. We were a team that was very unified.”

Stotts was also a leader in the classroom and with her classmates. She compiled a 4.42 grade-point average, was a two-year member of the student council and was the class treasurer during her junior year. Stotts was also involved in two musicals while at Little Rock Christian — Annie and Beauty and the Beast.

Outside of school, Stotts was no stranger to being a volunteer. Stotts said her favorite was being involved with the vacation bible school at the Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.

“I took a lot of pride in my grades,” Stotts said. “But I’m super competitive and I’m also proud I was able to do well in sports.”
