Wedding vows were exchanged by Brandi Cherrele Dewese and Sgt. Victor DeWayne Roy Jr. at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, in Full Counsel Metro Church, North Little Rock. Bishop Silas Johnson officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Bernita Moreland of North Little Rock. Her grandparents are Rebecca and Michael Thomas and Lula Mae and the late William Von Dewese, all of Jacksonville.

Clarice and Victor Roy of Sherwood are the parents of the groom. His grandparents are Clarice and the late Nathaniel Roy, Margree Barbee and the late Theolis Brown.

The chancel held a draped gazebo with tie-backs decorated with white roses and hydrangeas. Music was by pianist Rod Romes and vocalists Brandon Richardson, Catrice Wilbon and Dorris Banks.

The bride was given in marriage by her maternal grandfather and wore a strapless white trumpet-style gown with a beaded sweetheart bodice. She carried a nosegay of white and cream roses.

Serving as maid of honor was Na'Sha Dixon of Hot Springs. Bridesmaids were Samantha Alexander of Chicago; Ashley Williams of North Little Rock; Angela Bell of Bryant; Jazmin Moragne of Dallas, cousin of the bride; Briana Hayman, Erin Finney and Gashen Humphrey, all of Little Rock; Megan Garber of Maumelle; and Alisa Roy of Sherwood, sister of the groom. Junior bridesmaid was Brianna Brown of North Little Rock, sister of the bride. They wore one-shoulder gowns of orchid chiffon and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas.

Flower girl was Kayleigh Roy of Sherwood, the couple's daughter, and ring bearer was Colby Moreland of Jacksonville, cousin of the bride.

Kazmere Hill of Clarksville, Tenn., cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jason Williams, Larry Harris Jr., Jawaski Connors, Ahmond Owens and Trent Johnson, all of North Little Rock; Ulysses Robinson IV of El Paso, Texas; Damian Williams of Miami; Robert Alexander of Chicago; and Kenny Graham of Little Rock. Guests were seated by Emanuel Brooks and Bjay Cobb, both of Little Rock.

A reception at the Arkansas Arts Center followed the ceremony. Guest tables alternated arrangements of wedding flowers with arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, stock, tulips and lilies in tall cylinder vases.

The bride graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in education from Philander Smith College. She has a master's degree in education with a focus on educational theory and practice from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. She is a kindergarten teacher with the Pulaski County Special School District.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has a master's degree in criminal justice and occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, Ala. He is an Army sergeant working in human resources.

After a wedding trip to Paris, the couple will make their home in Sherwood.
