Tontitown Museum Receives Grant

Friday, July 18, 2014

The Tontitown Historical Museum received a $2,500 small museum operating grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council.

The money will be used to help expand and revitalize its Amici (Friends) membership and marketing campaign, according to a news release.

Museum directors recently approved a five-year plan, part of which was expanding its membership. The grant will be used to produce a membership banner, rack cards and brochures, in addition to creating membership certificates for business sponsors. The initiative and membership campaign will be launched in November.

For more information, call Michael Hartman at 479-595-3299.

Housed in the former home of two of Tontitown's original settlers, sisters Mary and Zelinda Bastianelli, the museum opened in August 1986. The museum is open Friday to Sunday, 1-4 p.m., and is in Harry Sbanotto Park next to City Hall.
