Police report death of car-fall victim

A woman injured last month when she fell from the rear of a moving vehicle died from her injuries, Arkansas State Police reported Wednesday.

Stacey Renfoe, 41, jumped onto the trunk of a moving car June 18 in Fort Smith. The car, a Chevrolet Corsica driven by Clarence Parrish, was traveling at a high rate of speed near the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, with Renfoe holding on.

After Parrish turned onto Alabama Avenue from North 46th Street, Renfoe fell from the car and hit her head, state police reported. She was taken to Mercy Hospital Fort Smith, where she died June 21.

Renfoe's body was held at the state Crime Laboratory before being released to her family.

No charges had been filed against Parrish, 36, late Thursday, according to court and jail records.

The two shared an address, according to state police, but their relationship was unclear.
