SPRINGDALE -- Police said they arrested a man Wednesday in connection with drug offenses who may be on the run from similar offenses in Oregon.

Jamie Serving-Gaona, 35, of 309 S. Cleveland St. in Springdale was arrested Wednesday in connection with felony trafficking of a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police found 483 grams of methamphetamine, a liter of liquid meth, scales, empty cans of acetone and a large cardboard box that appeared to have been used to mix a diluting agent into the drug, according to a preliminary arrest report.

The drugs and paraphernalia were found when a search warrant was served at Serving-Gaona's home, according to the report. Police also seized $984 as profit from drug sales.

Serving-Gaona said he was trying to sell as much as possible during a short time in order to flee to Texas, according to the report. He also said he fled Oregon after an arrest in connection with possession of 6 pounds of meth.

Springdale police hadn't confirmed Serving-Gaona is being sought by any Oregon police agencies as of Thursday afternoon, said Lt. Derek Hudson, public information officer.

Serving-Gaona was in the Washington County Detention Center on Thursday awaiting a bond hearing.
