Two Forth Smith residents were arraigned Wednesday in federal court in Fort Smith on charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.
William Alexander, 32, also known as Weenee, Sobee and Pitbull, and Rosa Sharon, 49, were arrested Monday following an investigation that began in 2013, according to the news release.
The investigation into the drug trafficking organization eventually resulted in searches that netted "pound quantities" of methamphetamine, several guns and drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.
During interviews with police, Alexander said he received and distributed "multiple pounds" of meth, the release states.
“Methamphetamine destroys lives and has far-reaching negative effects in the communities where it takes hold,” David Downing, Drug Enforcement Administration assistant special agent in charge said in the news release. “Side by side with our local law enforcement partners, DEA is holding meth dealers accountable. We are seizing their profits, shutting down distribution networks, and putting dealers where they belong – behind bars.”
