Sholds Pleads Guilty To Making Video Of Child Sexual Assault

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fayetteville man pleaded guilty in federal court Monday to making a video of himself raping a 2-year-old child.

Scott Sholds, 31 and homeless, pleaded guilty to four counts of producing child pornography and one count of knowingly possessing child pornography. Sholds will be sentenced at a later date.

Sholds faces 15 to 30 years in prison on the child pornography production charges, 25 to 50 years if he has a prior conviction for a sex offense, and fines of up $250,000. He also faces up to lifetime supervised release.

He faces up to 20 years on the possession charge and a fine of up to $250,000.

Sholds will be required to register as a sex offender.

Washington County prosecutors have charged Sholds with rape and two additional child porn charges. He has a trial date Friday in Washington County Circuit Court.
