Police: Man struck with tire iron, robbed at Rogers motel

Three people confronted a man outside his Rogers motel room, asked him for money and then hit him on the head with a tire iron at 12:53 a.m. today, police spokesman Lt. Mike Johnson said.

Levi Morris was at the Eighth Street Motel, located at 915 S. Eighth St., when three people approached him. A police report on the incident does not say whether Morris knew the people, Johnson said.

Morris told police that when he wouldn’t give the group money, he was struck on the head and $20 was taken from his pocket. The three people then went into his motel room and took a pair of Nike shoes.

Morris was transported to Northwest Medical Center.

Police stopped and arrested three people who admitted to the robbery, Johnson said.

Joe Holiday, 18, of 703 Willard Lane, Lowell; Isaac Samuelson, 18, of 4107 W. Mockingbird Lane, Rogers; and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with aggravated robbery. Johnson did not release the boy’s name because he is a juvenile.

Police also found the tire iron used in the robbery, Johnson said.

Tawney Driggs, 18, of 1404 W. Lilac St., Rogers, was arrested as an accomplice who helped plan the robbery, Johnson said. She was arrested in connection with aggravated robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

All three were being held at the Benton County Jail with no bond Tuesday.
