Police arrest teensat NLR hotel party

Two North Little Rock residents were arrested Sunday after police broke up a party in a hotel room.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the Best Western hotel at 2500 Main St. after receiving a call about a large party in room 221, according to a report from police.

When police arrived, there was a party going and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the room, the report states.

Police said they saw marijuana on the floor, desks, bed, toilet seat and bathtub. They found plastic baggies, a marijuana grinder and many bottles of opened alcohol in the room, according to the report.

According to the report, Mahalia Henderson, 19, told police that the party and the room belonged to her.

Henderson was arrested and charged with maintaining premises for drug activities, possession with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor. She was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where she was fingerprinted and released with a court date.

Another person in the room was found to be unlawfully possessing a weapon.

Police found a handgun loaded with eight bullets in the pants of Anthony Batts, 18, according to the report.

The officers reported that Batts told them he was carrying the gun for personal protection.

Batts was charged with carrying certain prohibited weapons and refusal to submit to arrest. He was being held at the Pulaski County jail late Sunday in lieu of bond.

Man robs teenageras part of a prank

A man arrested Saturday told police he robbed a teenager as a prank, according to a report from Little Rock police.

Warrants for the arrest of Kevin Stewart, 18, of Little Rock were issued Friday after police said he robbed Ciara Butler, 17, of Little Rock and took money from her while her 3-year-old son was present, according to the report.

Stewart was apprehended by police around 9 a.m. Saturday at his home on Winterwood Drive, according to the report.

Stewart was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He was held at the Pulaski County jail without bond late Sunday.

A no-contact order between the two was requested, according to the report.

LR bank robberysuspect identified

Police identified a Little Rock man who was arrested in connection with a Saturday morning bank robbery.

According to a report from police, Ronald Hudson, 47, entered the Simmons Bank at 7401 Cantrell Road armed with a small silver gun shortly before noon Saturday.

The suspect pointed the gun at one remaining teller after two bank employees ran out of the building and then left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the report.

Police took Hudson into custody at 75 Indian Trail a few minutes later. They did not find the gun, but most of the cash was recovered, according to the report.

Hudson was charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He was held at the Pulaski County jail late Sunday in lieu of bond. He also had a parole hold.
