Utah steers gay ruling to justices

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, shown April 26, will file an appeal directly to the U.S. Supreme Court over an appeals court ruling that same-sex couples in the state have a right to marry.

Utah is going directly to the nation's highest court to challenge a federal appeals court panel's ruling that gay couples have a constitutional right to marry, the state attorney general's office announced Wednesday.
