The group operates KidsClub in partnership with The Jones Center for Families in Springdale, the Rogers Activity Center and the Siloam Springs Boys and Girls Club. The camp is serving some 55 children this summer.

Susan McCourt, KidsClub director, said the program is important "because kids with special needs, like all kids, need the opportunity to experience summer camp -- the friendships, activities and memories." She said they do "typical camp stuff -- lots of swimming and arts and crafts." This summer's activities have also included cooking classes, a rodeo outing, a tour of Arvest Ballpark, a trip to Wild Wilderness Drive Through Safari in Gentry and visits to local police and fire departments.

The gala will include a keynote address from Richardson, former University of Arkansas men's basketball coach, a silent auction, heavy hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and the Mike Harrod Band. VIP tickets are available for the event and include a question-and-answer session with Richardson at 6 p.m. and two drink tickets.
