Gravette teacher killed in wreck

Angela Scott, 44, of Bella Vista was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Arkansas Highway 72. Scott was a teacher in the Gravette School District.

Scott’s vehicle was westbound on Arkansas Highway 72 at 7:39 a.m. when it was struck by a Dodge pickup truck driven by John Trobaugh, 33, of Rogers, according to a Gravette Police Department news release. Trobaugh’s truck traveled left of center and struck Scott’s vehicle in the westbound lane, the release states.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 72 and Bluebird Road, police said.

Scott, driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla, was wearing her seat belt, but she was ejected in the accident, according to police.

Trobaugh was cited for careless and prohibited driving with additional charges possible “pending results from the Arkansas Crime Lab,” according to the release.

An investigation is ongoing, the release states.

Scott was a health science technology and bio-medical engineering teacher. She also was HOSA advisor and the Career and Technical Department chairwoman at Gravette High School, according to the school’s website.
