Beverly Wilson told Pulaski County sheriff's deputies that on May 15, she stopped in the roadway to make a turn in the 12000 block of Arch Street Pike and a vehicle behind her screeched to a halt. When Wilson exited her vehicle to see if it had been damaged, she recognized Whitney Welch as the motorist behind her, according to a police report.

The two had had "numerous previous incidents," the report says. Another one began when Welch purportedly rolled down her window and yelled at the 49-year-old Wilson, "You need to learn how to drive!"

"Why don't you just run me over then," Wilson replied.

Wilson and three witnesses told investigators that Welch tried to do just that. Welch then drove away at a high rate of speed, according to the report. No injuries were reported.

Welch, 24, was charged with aggravated assault and second-degree terroristic threatening. She was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Friday.
