FAYETTEVILLE -- A Rogers woman who said she was high on LSD was arrested Wednesday after running naked on West Center Street and South Church Avenue in downtown Fayetteville.

Melissa Valencia, 21, of 1911 S. 11th St., was arrested in connection with misdemeanor charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest.

Valencia called 911 and told dispatchers she was intoxicated on drugs and "tripping balls," according to an arrest report.

When police arrived, Valencia was running in a parking lot screaming, according to the report. She then tried to hide from police behind a pole.

While being arrested, Valencia was speaking and not making sense, according to the report. She began to swing her arms about and then began to jump in the air and kick. She was put into leg restraints: one around her ankles and the other around her thighs, according to the report.

A blanket was put around her, and she was strapped to and handcuffed to a gurney, and taken to Washington Regional Medical Center, according to the report.

She told police she took LSD, according to the report.

She was released from the Washington County Detention Center later Wednesday on a $970 bond.

Sgt. Craig Stout said police are seeing more incidents involving homemade and synthetic LSD.
