ASU men add assistant coach

Mike Scutero, who spent last season as an assistant at Kennesaw State after four seasons at Middle Tennessee, was named as an assistant coach for the Arkansas State men's team Tuesday.

Scutero, who has more than 15 years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, junior college, high school and AAU levels, had served as Kennesaw State's recruiting coordinator. He assisted with on-floor coaching and oversaw opponent scouting under Coach Lewis Preston.

"Mike is a highly motivated, high-energy coach who works great with people," Coach John Brady said in a news release from the school. "He understands every aspect of a Division I program from recruiting, academics, budget and the coaching side."

While at Middle Tennessee, Scutero was an assistant coach and director of basketball operations for three Sun Belt Conference championship teams, all of which advanced to the postseason.
