Fayetteville Walmart evacuated after bomb threat

Police were called to Walmart on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 4 a.m. Wednesday after a bomb threat was found written on a bathroom wall, Sgt. Craig Stout said.

An employee called police to report the threat found on a men’s bathroom wall. Stout said it was a public restroom but used mostly by employees. He said he did not know the exact wording of the threat but added the message indicated a specific time the bomb would detonate.

Police did a sweep of the building which was evacuated by the store manager as police were called. It was not immediately known how many employees and customers were in the store.

Police were on the scene until about 5 a.m., Stout said. The investigation is continuing.
