Main Street Rogers Receives State Award

ROGERS — Main Street Rogers’ Oktoberfest was recognized Wednesday as one of the two most creative fundraisers by Main Street Arkansas.

Oktoberfest received the “Best Creative Fundraising Event” award, as did Eureka Springs Downtown Networks’ Cocktails for a Cause.

Other Northwest Arkansas winners were:

• Best Total Building Renovation (5,000 Square Feet or More): 28 Springs, Main Street Siloam Springs

• Best New Event: Eureka Springs Downtown Network’s “Party in the Park”

• Best Web Presence/Use of Social Media: Main Street Siloam Springs

• Best Window Display: Siloam Flowers, Main Street Siloam Springs

• Main Street Hero: Ron Drake, Main Street Siloam Springs

• Outstanding Executive Director: Meredith Bergstrom, Main Street Siloam Springs

• Spirit of Main Street Award: Main Street Siloam Springs

The Main Street Arkansas awards are presented twice each year to recognize outstanding achievements by individuals, organizations and communities in helping to revitalize their downtown areas, according to a news release. The Main Street Arkansas Advisory Board selects the winners.

The awards were presented at the annual conference of the Arkansas Municipal League under way at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.
