What About Abused Babies?

Paula Burris of Bentonville wrote passionately of her concern for the unborn but apparently she, and many who are “pro-life,” never concern themselves with the infant who is born into potentially abusive situations.

Does Ms. Burris ever stay awake nights thinking about the crying infant who’s being shaken, punched, thrown against a wall, or smothered, limbs broken, ribs fractured ?

Do you ever think about the child who survives infant brutality and then is neglected or sexually/ psychologically/physically abused?

How about your vote for the Republicans, Tom Cotton for one, who voted to cut funding for SNAP, Head Start, Planned Parenthood (remembering birth control prevents abortion).

How many unwanted babies have you adopted, offered to be financially responsible for and emotionally supportive of the mother/child?

IT’S A REPUBLICAN IDEA

Did the Republicans somehow forget that the “private option” was a Republican idea? And now, Republicans are attacking Democrats for supporting their own idea? This resembles more of a bear trap than actual governing.

The private option should not be used as a tool for political attack. Governing should be about working together with others, not about ideological purity.

The Democrats that worked with the Republicans on the private option should not be demonized for doing so and neither should the Republicans who tried to solve a problem for the state rather than oppose everything.
