Rogers Man Arrested After Taxi Ride

ROGERS — Taxi service employees reported they were threatened with a knife late Thursday after dropping off their ride.

Police arrested Matthew Ryon Jones, 35, of 705 N. Turtle Creek Drive, in connection with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor theft of services and resisting arrest, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Steaphan Ratliff, cab service employee, told police they were waiting for Jones to pay his $10 fare when Jones pointed a knife at them and told him not to come any closer. Christopher Bolton, also a cab service employee, said Jones also pointed the knife at him, according to the probable cause affidavit.

When officers arrived, the front door was open and they found Jones, who was inside and obviously intoxicated, according to the report. Jones received a cut just above his eye during a struggle with officers.

Jones was being held Friday in Benton County Jail on $5,000 bond.
