Man Being Held On $100,000 Bond

BENTONVILLE — A woman claims a Siloam Springs man raped her because the police had been called about him smoking marijuana, according to court documents filed Thursday.

Bryan Dwayne Weary, 42, was being held in the Benton County Jail with a $100,000 bond Friday.

Weary was arrested Tuesday in connection with rape, a Class Y felony, and aggravated assault, a Class D felony. He also was arrested on misdemeanor charges of domestic battering in the third degree, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Siloam Springs Police were called at 8:59 a.m. Tuesday about a rape, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The woman, 27, told officers Weary raped her because he was angry police were called the previous day about him smoking marijuana.

The woman told police Weary called her a snitch and was angry with her. She told Weary she didn't call the police

The woman said Weary grabbed her by the throat and threw her against a countertop and she blacked out. The woman said after she was conscious again Weary raped her.

The woman said she was unable to call police because Weary was watching he. She was able to call police when Weary went to work.

Weary’s bond was set at $100,000 during a hearing before Rogers District Judge Paul Bridges on Thursday.

Weary’s arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. March 3 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
