Charges Dropped Against Springdale Man

SPRINGDALE — Criminal charges were dropped against a Springdale man arrested after police said he threatened to kill people with a gun.

Washington County prosecutors dropped charges of felony aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening against Monte Jordan, 47, on July 22.

Jordan was arrested April 6, after a domestic incident at his 1109 Cheatham Ave. residence was reported by Jordan’s girlfriend. Prosecutors said the woman didn't want to pursue the case, which is why they dropped charges.

The woman told police Jordan was upset about an earlier encounter with police at the residence, he waved a gun around and threatened to shoot police if they returned, and he threatened her, according to an arrest report.

Police arrested Jordan without incident inside the house.
