Prairie Grove Bridge Replacement Planned

State highway officials have let a bid to replace a one-lane bridge near Prairie Grove.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid for improvements to Arkansas 170 in Washington County on Tuesday, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials.

The project will replace the bridge with a two-lane box culvert. The work will be done just east of U.S. 62 between Pickett Ridge Road and Terpening Road.

Nabholz Construction of Rogers was awarded the $1.2 million contract.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The project should be complete by spring.
