Fayetteville’s Website Address Changes

Residents have a new way of accessing the city’s website and emailing Fayetteville employees.

The city’s URL, accessfayetteville.org, will change to fayetteville-ar.gov by the end of the year, Paul Becker, city finance director, said Wednesday. Residents will be able to access the website using both URLs until then.

Employees’ email suffixes have changed from @ci.fayetteville.ar.us to @fayetteville-ar.gov. Both suffixes will function for at least another year, Becker said.

The changes are part of a transition from a Novell email system to Microsoft Outlook. Becker estimated the annual cost will be about $100,000.

The city will spend about $125 each year to register the new URL, Becker said.

Residents can use the website to pay water bills; report broken streetlights, downed tree limbs and illegal dumping; reserve Parks and Recreation facilities; and watch government meetings.

To search for employees’ phone numbers and email addresses, go to accessfayetteville.org and click on “directory.”
