Two Washington County inmates plead not guilty to rape, torture charges

Two Washington County inmates pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges they raped and tortured another inmate last month.

Javaughntaiye Willis, 21, and J’Donta Britt, 18, are charged with accomplice to rape, accomplice to second-degree sexual assault, accomplice to second-degree battery and terroristic threatening. Britt was given a March 20 trial date in Washington County Circuit Court. Willis has an April 4 trial date.

Sheriff Tim Helder said the attack took place “off and on” during a 16-hour time frame Dec. 12 and 13.
