No. 1-ranked Little Rock Parkview play has had its opponents begging for mercy all season, and it was no different Tuesday night in a 7A/6A Central game.

The Patriots (14-1, 4-0) defeated Conway 66-31, triggering a running fourth-quarter clock when it held a 59-20 lead after three quarters.

Daryl Macon had 17 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists for Parkview. Jaylen Franklin had 16 points and Jason Hendrix had 10. Javon Franklin chipped in with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

Parkview has led by 30 or more after three quarters in three of its four conference games.

The Patriots outscored Conway 18-1 over a three-minute stretch in the first half to break the game open at Charles Ripley Arena as Parkview built a 42-13 halftime lead.

“The boys really played hard in this one,” Parkview Coach Al Flanigan said. “I liked the way they got up that line on defense and got after it. On offense, I gave them a little headway, but they really did a good job pressuring on defense.”

The Patriots did well offensively, as well.

Parkview hit 26 of 41 from the floor, including a stretch of nine consecutive baskets at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second. Conway (8-6, 0-4) missed nine shots in a row and turned the ball over seven times while being forced to change up its defensive strategy.

Conway trailed 14-8 after a short jumper by James Grubbs. The Wampus Cats had a chance to creep closer after getting a steal on Parkview’s ensuing trip but missed a wide-open three-pointer. That missed shot started Conway’s dry spell and jump-started Parkview’s offensive outburst.

Charles Washington scored on the Patriots’ next possession, and Javon Franklin tacked on a layup moments later off a steal. Another Wampus Cats’ turnover led to a dunk by Jaylen Franklin to beat the first-quarter buzzer.

Conway got a free throw from Grubbs to start the second quarter, but Parkview outscored Conway 12-0, starting with back-to-back baskets by Jaylen Franklin, to build a 23-point lead. Conway’s first field goal of the second quarter came with 2:01 to play in the half and Parkview leading 37-12.

Javonte Ellis scored 10 points to lead Conway.
