Lake Atalanta No Place For Bike Trails

I do not know Mr. Joseph Neal who wrote the excellent letter to the editor concerning trails at Lake Atalanta. However I am an avid mountain biker and I agree with his assessment concerning birds vs. mountain bike trails at the lake project. Walking trails would be fine in my opinion, but not mountain bike trails.

As Mr. Neal stated, there are other, more suitable places for mountain bike trails.

CHARGE USERS FOR AMBULANCES

I live in Rogers. Five years ago I was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital. The bill was $500. Insurance paid part of it. I paid the balance.

That makes sense to me.

It seems forever that the Quorum Court has fretted about ambulance service to county residents. Soon the county residents are going to vote down the idiotic idea of an $85 annual tax for ambulance service, as they should.

What works for city residents should be just fine for the rural folks and for the ambulance services. Sure, it costs more to transport a person from 20 miles outside the city, so what to do?

Duh, charge more, based on distance, etc. (the variable cost of driving an extra 30 miles would actually not be that great.) The person’s insurance pays part, the person transported pays the balance

Seems we could solve this problem now, or let it roll on for years. Guess what I think the Quorum Court will do?
