MONDAY’S STARS Jockey Norberto Arroyo Jr. and trainer Cody Autrey teamed for two victo

ries, including Tanzanite Cat in the $150,000 Smarty Jones Stakes for 3-year-olds. Congenial, the first winner of the 2013 Oaklawn meeting, won the fifth race in front-running fashion for Arroyo, Autrey and Arkansas-based Lucky Dog Stables.

Starter-allowance terror Flattermejim, owned by Frank Vozel of Little Rock and trained by David Vance, took advantage of a hot pace to win his 2014 debut at a mile. A seven-time winner last year, Flattermejim has won 5 of 6 career starts at Oaklawn. Flattermejim won the final race of the 2013 Oaklawn meeting, the 13-4-mile Trail’s End marathon.

Be Like Ms. D. won the fourth race to give owner/trainer/breeder David Whited of Hot Springs his first local victory since suffering a severe head injury in August unloading a horse.
