Main Street Rogers plans for marketing, communication, fundraising

ROGERS — Organization is the buzzword for the Main Street Rogers board of directors, with plans to remake the website, improve communication between merchants, do more marketing of downtown and increase fundraising activities.

“We have a lot of smart, hardworking board members who don’t mind getting their hands dirty to do what needs to be done to make downtown a more viable area,” said Paul Hively, board chairman.

“I'm not saying downtown will ever be the the financial draw of Pinnacle Hills Promenade, but we can make downtown a designation for people,” he added.

The plan this year revolves around communication, marketing and fundraising, said Dana Mather, interim executive director.

“Each committee from the executive to promotion is developing plans for that fit each committee on those three main area.

Board members learned they had something to cheer about. Frisco Festival has been announced as a finalist for the Grand Old Classic Special Event award and will be honored at the 40th annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference of Tourism set for March 11 in Rogers.
