NLR shows its balance of power

Dajha Hardamon scored 16 points to lead a balanced North Little Rock attack and the Lady Charging Wildcats made 20 of 24 free-throw attempts in a 73-38 rout of Jonesboro on Friday night.

Five North Little Rock players scored 10 or more points as the Wildcats bounced back from a loss to West Memphis on Tuesday.

“We shot it really well tonight, and we’ve been struggling with that,” North Little Rock Coach Daryl Fimple said.“I thought our ball movement … was the best night we’ve had with that this season. We made everybody be guarded and we hit shots tonight.”

North Little Rock (11-5, 2-1 7A/6A-East) made 24 of 40 shots from the floor and hit 20 of 24 free throws. Jonesboro (5-10, 0-3) was 14 of 29 from the floor and 6 of 13 from the line.

Hardamon scored eight points in each half and finished with three assists. Kyra Collier added 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kiara Webb scored 11 points. Brogan Jones and Malica Monk added 10 points each. Jones tied Collier for rebounding honors with seven.Monk had four assists and three steals.

Morgan Malugen paced Jonesboro with 11 points, all of which came in the first half. Susannah Kelley added 10 points.

North Little Rock led 37-27 at the half and scored the first seven points of the second half. The Lady Wildcats outscored Jonesboro 22-7 in the third quarter.
