Man killed in Fayetteville fire identified

Authorities have identified the man killed Jan. 9 in a fire at a Fayetteville motel as Ronald Keith Davis, 51, according to a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department.

Firefighter responded to a fire at Hiway Inn, 1140 N. College Ave., just before noon on Jan. 9 and found a body inside the room after extinguishing the fire. Davis' cause of death was smoke and soot inhalation, according to the news release.

The Fayetteville Fire Marshal's Office continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
