BASEBALL

McDonald County (Mo.) High School is hosting a six-week baseball camp starting Jan. 25. McDonald County baseball coach Nick Martin will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and baserunning. Proceeds from the program benefit amateur baseball in Anderson, Mo. Space is limited. Registration is now under way. BASKETBALL

In-Season Basketball Skills Tune-Up offered by Rainmaker Basketball coach, Isaac Edwards will be offered at the Rogers Activity Center starting Sunday. The classes are for players in grades 2-12 and the cost is $50 for all six sessions, or $10 per session. A RAC membership is required. Classes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. each Sunday through Feb. 23.

FOOTBALL

Registration for spring youth tackle football for players in grades K-7 will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays starting Feb. 15 through March 11 at Academy Sports and Outdoors, 3855 S. 26th in Rogers and 3864 N. MISCELLANEOUS

The eighth-annual Razor Fitness Winter Sports Medicine Symposium takes place Saturday at the Graduate Education Building on the University of Arkansas campus. Online registration is available at uacs.uark.edu/Events/View/20843 along with a schedule for the symposium. The symposium is open to students, professors, coaches, teachers, physicians, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Speakers include Lenny Macrina of Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Ala., and R.J. Elbin, assistant professor of exercise science at the University of Arkansas. The symposium is presented by the Graduate Athletic Training Education program at the University of Arkansas and Advanced Orthopaedic Specialists in Fayetteville. The Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy and the national Board of Certification for Athletic Training have approved 8 continuing education units for attendance. Cost varies by profession. SOCCER

The Springdale Youth Center is now taking registration for spring soccer through Jan. 31 for boys and girls ages 3 through high school. Fees vary from $15 to $25 based on age. TENNIS

The Rogers Activity Center will offer youth winter tennis classes through the Ozark Tennis Academy from Jan. 22 to Feb. 28. No experience is necessary. These fun classes will introduce all of the basic tennis strokes using QuickStart junior rackets, lower nets, foam tennis balls, low-compression balls and shorter courts. As players learn to keep the ball in play, they will also be introduced to the basics of scoring and match play. Sessions are ages 6-10 from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. The fee is $60 or $120 for both sessions, and a RAC membership is required. Junior tennis racket included for new registrants if needed. Limited supply available. RAC membership required.

VOLLEYBALL

Winter coed adult volleyball registration is under way at the Yvonne Richardson Center in Fayetteville. The cost is $250 per team for 8 games, plus a postseason tournament. Competitive league matches are played starting at 6 p.m. every Tuesday. Registration will be taken through Wednesday. The cost for each team is $250 for 8 games, plus a guaranteed spot in the postseason tournament. WRESTLING

Rogers Activity Center registration for the 2013-14 Youth Wrestling Program is currently being taken at the Rogers Activity Center and online at www.rogersarkansas.com/recreation. Boys and girls ages 6-18 are eligible to participate. Cost for registration is $65 and includes USA wrestling membership card and a club shirt. SWIMMING

The Springdale High swim team and local club teams will hold a Swim-A-Thon fundraiser Feb. 1 with proceeds benefitting The Water Project, a non-profit organization which brings relief to communities around Africa suffering from a lack of access to clean water. The fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each swimmer can be sponsored by individuals or organizations, which will pledge to donate at least 10 cents per lap, with the swimmers completing a maximum 200 laps in the two-hour event.
