Breast cancer screenings set

The No Excuses Breast Cancer Outreach Program, a service of Washington Regional Cancer Support Home, will offer free clinical breast exams from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Northwest Arkansas Free Health Center, 1100 N. Woolsey Ave. in Fayetteville.

The examinations are offered at no cost to the public and are performed by physicians and registered nurse practitioners. Appointments are required.

Bentonville Lions

take fruit orders

The Bentonville Noon Lions are taking orders for red grapefruit, Temple oranges and honey tangerines that will be shipped from Indian River country, Palm Beach County, Florida.

The fruit is picked on a Wednesday and shipped thenext day to guarantee freshness. The prices are $19 for a 2/5 bushel and $27 for a 4/5 bushel for the grapefruit and oranges. The tangerines are $16 for 1/5 bushel and $21 for 2/5 bushel. If kept cool the grapefruit will keep indefinitely, the oranges and tangerines will keep for up to six weeks.

The fruit will arrive Feb.

15 and be delivered to customers the same day.

The proceeds will help put glasses on needy kids and adults, help diabetics and aid the Lions in their preschool eye screenings.

The Lions will not be selling fruit along the road as in the past so this is a one-time opportunity to purchase fruit.

Last day for ordering is Feb. 5.
