Rogers Man Accused Of Sex Crimes

BENTONVILLE — A Rogers man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of exposing himself to two women and two teen girls earlier this month.

Everardo Colindres, 53, was arrested in connection with three counts of indecent exposure and sexual indecency with a child, a Class D felony.

A woman reported at 2:19 p.m. Jan. 2 she was parked at Harps Food Store in Rogers. When she came out of the business she observed a man sitting in a green minivan next to her vehicle. The woman saw the man masturbating in the van, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The woman said she confronted the man, who zipped up his pants, said he wasn't doing anything and left the area, according to the affidavit. The woman was able to get the license number of the van and provided it to police.

The woman said her 13- and 17-year-old daughters, along with the woman’s sister, were in her vehicle and witnessed the incident, according to the affidavit.

Police were able to find the van’s owner who said Colindres was driving the van, according to the affidavit.

Colindres has been convicted on indecent exposure charges in California, Rogers and Bentonville, according to the affidavit. He also was convicted in Rogers District Court for public sexual indecency, according to court documents.

Colindres was acquitted of indecent exposure in July 2008. Indecent exposure charges have been dismissed against Colindres two separate times, according to the affidavit.

Colindres was being held in the Benton County Jail with a $25,000 bond Friday.

His arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. Feb. 18 in Circuit Judge Robin Green’s court.
