Man Arrested In Summer Beating On Dickson Street

FAYETTEVILLE — A man faces felony charges in connection with stomping another man’s head on Dickson Street last year.

Police arrested Jon David Wilson, 48, of 1512 Walton St. on Friday in connection with felony second-degree battery and misdemeanor theft of property.

Police went to the Hog Haus Brewing Co., 430 W. Dickson St., at 2:27 a.m. Aug. 17 for a report of an unconscious man on the ground, according to an arrest warrant.

Witnesses said an intoxicated man walking down Dickson Street fell several times, according to the report.

Several people saw a black Toyota Prius stop and the driver get out of the car, according to the report.

Witnesses said the driver kicked the man in the groin and stomped on his head repeatedly while he was on the ground, according to the report.

Police said the man suffered bleeding in his brain and was in critical condition after the attack.

The man’s condition improved several days later, but he couldn’t remember the attack, according to the report.

A witness went to police in January and identified Wilson as the driver of the Prius, according to the report.

Wilson posted bond Friday and was released from the Washington County Detention Center.
