Dye delivers 26 for FS Northside

Senior guard Joe Dye scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds while leading Fort Smith Northside to a 62-46 victory over host Little Rock Catholic on Friday night.

Held scoreless during the first quarter, Dye scored 11 points in the second quarter as the Grizzlies turned a 10-7 deficit into a 31-21 lead by the end of the first half of the 7A/6A-Central Conference game.

Northside (11-4, 1-0) forced Catholic into 20 turnovers - 13 in the first half - while the Grizzlies were guilty of only 10.

Senior Jace Richardson added 11 points and four assists for Northside. Stephon Barron had five rebounds and blocked three shots.

Zach Morris led Catholic with 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Lance Harville-Thomas had a team high eight rebounds. Harville-Thomas, Chad Wharton and William Hancock added seven points each for Catholic.

Northside finished the game hitting 21 of 47 shots from the floor while Catholic was 17 of 44. Catholic out rebounded Northside 34-22.
