Nursing classes start next week in Jane, Mo., home to a new branch of Crowder College.

A ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning filled the lobby at 194 College Road, Jane, Mo.

The 33,000-square-foot campus just across the Missouri border will give Neosho-based Crowder College a foothold in southern McDonald County about eight miles from Northwest Arkansas Community College.

The location was key for the expansion, said Kent Farnsworth, interim president of Crowder College. The vision of the Crowder leadership team has been to put centers where the people are, Farnsworth said.

“We want to be where we can serve the population,” Farnsworth said.

The building will be formally named James B. Tatum Hall later this month, Farnsworth said.
