Trash Pickup Resumes In Bella Vista

Thursday, January 9, 2014

— Republic Services collected trash Wednesday as roads began to improve. There was no trash pickup Monday and Tuesday because of road conditions from Sunday’s snow.

Mayor Frank Anderson said the trash hauler hoped to have the Wednesday pickup schedule completed today.

The trash normally collected Monday and Tuesday will not be picked up this week, but will be picked up next week on the normal schedule.

If more than two days are missed in the pickup schedule, the hauler stays with the normal schedule the rest of the week. Trash pickup will then resume the regular schedule the following week, Anderson said.

The city arranged for several large trash bins to be placed in the city — at the Highlands Golf Course cart parking area, at Lake Avalon near the boat ramp on Camden Road and at Bella Vista Way and Trafalger Road.

A trash bin would be placed at the cart parking lot at the Metfield Golf Course if there would be no trash pickup Friday on the east side of Bella Vista, Anderson said.

Trash service also resumed in Bentonville on Wednesday, according to the city. Republic Services also operates in Bentonville.
