Audubon Sets Lake Field Trip
The Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society will host a free field trip Jan. 18 at Rocky Branch park on Beaver Lake.
Meet at the Rocky Branch Marina parking lot at 9 a.m.
The trip will include short, easy walks on paved roads inthe park to view birds such as waterfowl, songbirds, loons, gulls, vultures and bald eagles. A wide area of the lake can be viewed from the park, as far north as Slate Gap and Lost Bridge.
Participants don’t need to be Audubon members to attend. For more information, call Joe Neal, 479-521-1858.
Team Wins At Beaver Lake
Mike White and Larry White won the Polar Bear Bass Tournament on Jan. 1 at Beaver Lake with five bass that weighed 14.45 pounds.
Travis Fox and Kevin Keef placed second with five bass at 13.05 pounds. RichardChampagne and Mike Hubbard were third with five bass at 12.5 pounds. Steve Meador and Aaron Stanphill finished fourth with five bass at 11.67 pounds. Gary Bohannan and Greg Bohannan were fifth with five bass at 11.62 pounds.
Don Woolsey had big bass at 5.59 pounds.
