Property Owners Association Extends Board Candidate Petition Deadline

— The deadline to submit a petition for one of the vacancies on the Property Owners Association’s Board of Directors has been extended because of inclement weather, according to a news release Monday.

Bella Vista Village property owners interested in vying for one of the four board seats may obtain a petition packet from POA corporate secretary Kathy Ferguson at the Bella Vista Country Club, 98 Clubhouse Drive. Petition packets must be returned to Ferguson by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Certified candidates will be announced at the Jan. 16 board meeting, according to the release.

Three of the seats — held by Ed Morgan, David Allen and Brad Morris — are for three-year terms. The fourth seat, which is held by Ruth Hatcher, is a two-year term. The three candidates with the most votes will receive the three-year terms and the candidate that places fourth will receive the two-year term, the release stated.

Ballots will be mailed in early April. Winners will be announced at the association’s annual meeting on May 20. All four terms will begin June 1.
