Worker Injured At Fayetteville Job Site Being Treated For Burns

A construction worker who was shocked by a high-voltage power line while working at a job site in Fayetteville Friday suffered severe burns to his hands and feet and remained in the hospital Sunday, said Jerry Ennis, vice president and director of Thompson Thrift Construction.

The worker’s name has not been released at the request of his family, Ennis said. The man was recently transferred to Mercy Children’s Hospital in Springfield, Mo., to be treated for burns, he said. Other than the burns, the worker appears to be doing OK, Ennis said.

The company is investigating the accident that happened at The Cardinal apartment complex being constructed at Duncan Avenue and Center Street, Ennis said.
